Transcutaneous (through skin) Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) machines are devices used to stimulate the nerves under the skin. By sending electric pulses to the muscle fibers and stimulating the nerves, it closes a “gate” in the spinal cord. A tingling sensation occurs while the pain receptor is being stimulated by the electrical pulse. To use, simply attach the pads to the device, remove the plastic covering of pad, and place on the area of pain. The remote allows the user to custom fit their pain therapy and choose which level of intensity they would like.
